System Requirements
To use Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh effectively, you will need a computer and scanner that meet or exceed the hardware and software requirements listed
below:
System Requirements (all clients):
- Minimum G3 processor, running Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
- Minimum 128 MB RAM (512 MB RAM for Cepstral voices).
- Minimum 300 MB (500 MB for Cepstral voices).
- DVD drive, keyboard, mouse, speakers, microphone, Internet connection for Read the Web functionality.
- TWAIN- or Image Capture-compatible scanner (Color Professional and Black-and-White Professional only).
- NOTE: K3000 Mac v4 will NOT open native AppleWorks and ClarisWorks files
Network Engine Requirements:
- A Macintosh with a minimum of a G3 processor that has PowerPC or Intel with Rosetta, and that is running Mac OS X version 10.4 or later.
- Minimum of 128 MB of RAM.
- Minimum 5 MB of hard disk space.
Kurzweil 3000 Administrator Requirements:
- A Macintosh with a minimum of a G3 processor that is running Mac OS X version 10.4 or later.
- Minimum of 128 MB of RAM.
- Minimum of 10 MB of hard disk space.
- USB port.
- "Beige" Macintosh G3's are not compatible with Kurzweil 3000.
Additional Web License (only) Requirements:
- Internet connection required for product use.
Kurzweil 3000 does not currently support thin-client based environments as it was not designed for some of the special requirements of these systems.
