An Error Between 1300 and 1399 Appears During Installation
This article applies to:
- Kurzweil 1000
- Kurzweil 3000 for Windows
Symptoms
While installing a Kurzweil application, an error between 1300 and
1399 (e.g. Error 1305, 1309, 1311, etc.) appears, stating that a source
file could not be found.
Cause
Microsoft lists several possible causes for this error, including
outdated CD-ROM drivers, anti-virus programs, or security settings on
Windows NT, 2000, and XP systems that restrict CD-ROM access to the
locally logged-on user only.
Solution
The easiest solution is to create a directory on your hard disk,
copy the entire contents (including all subdirectories) of the CD into
that directory, and run the install from that directory on the hard
disk. Once the install is complete, you may delete the directory you had
created.
