Edit Underlying Text Display Appears Blank
This article applies to:
Summary
When working in an image file the Edit Underlying Text display appears blank even though the underlying text still exists and you can read the document.
Symptoms
If you have an image file that you are able to read, but the Edit Underlying Text display appears blank, you may be experiencing this issue.
Cause
The OCR engine misrecognized a piece of the image file as the character combination "\{", or that character combination actually appears within the text of the document.
Solution
Use the Find and Replace function's "Replace All" option to replace all occurences of the character combination "\{" (without the quotes) in the file with a blank space or some other character you feel is appropriate. Note that if you later use the Zone Editor and a page is re-recognized, this problem may resurface and you'll need to do another "Replace All" to remove the "\{" character combination from the file.
Status
The workaround above is currently the recommended method of dealing with this problem.
