Kurzweil 3000 Testimonials
What Kurzweil 3000 for Windows Users are Saying...
"...with Kurzweil 3000 it’s instant access; whatever I want to read, I can scan in. That’s what really helps me. I don’t have to rely on anyone else. It is me and Kurzweil 3000 and that is it."
Mario Ball, Kurzweil 3000 student from Landmark College, Putney, VT
"The fact that Kurzweil 3000 highlights text as it reads, provides me with continuous reinforcement. Without really trying, I discovered I had become a much more fluent and confident reader."
Dave Burns, General Manager, Ray Sands Glass, Rochester, NY
"Rather than only focusing on reading, the Kurzweil 3000 helps the student improve the whole academic experience — reading, writing, comprehension, communicating with the teacher and even test taking. My students, who are at different levels, have made significant improvements, sometimes jumping two to three grade levels. Kurzweil has had a great impact on my students’ lives and has been very responsive and open to suggestions on product enhancements that can better meet their needs."
Regina Champagne, Education Therapist, Burlingame, CA
"Since we became Kurzweil 3000 users, our students are in a better position to demonstrate their intelligence on tests rather than struggling to read the questions. It helps them bridge the gap between performance and ability."
Jennifer Edge, Assistive Technology Specialist and Occupational Therapist, South Shore Educational Collaborative, Hingham, MA
"It [Kurzweil 3000] has made such an improvement in their grades."
Jan Hecht, Coordinator of Adaptive Technology Services, Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT
"I thought we could close the curriculum gap using Kurzweil 3000, but I never expected that we would also improve kids' vocabulary and comprehension....I soon realized that tools like Kurzweil 3000 weren’t just for students with disabilities but could benefit all students performing below grade level in reading.... 15% of students in the program have moved out of the high-risk area and are now performing above the 40th percentile."
Roger Rachow, Assistive Technology Specialist, Area 13, Council Bluffs, IA
"Kurzweil Educational products offer the most compelling set of features for students with learning disabilities - enabling them to not only read but to boost their entire academic experience."
Major Simms, Educational Diagnostician of Putnam County Schools, Putnam, WV
"As a school system with a long track record with Kurzweil 3000, we've seen students' reading skills increase by as much as 2 or 3 grade levels within a single semester."
Tom Turner, School Administrator, Chouteau Public Schools, Chouteau, OK
"At the age of seven I was diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities and shortly thereafter discovered assistive technology to help me tackle various academic activities. As a graduate student today, I use the Kurzweil 3000 to read volumes of research and curriculum materials. I now pass on my learning techniques to teach other kids with varied developmental disabilities. There is no doubt that Kurzweil 3000 changed my life."
Jody Weinstein, Teacher and Graduate student, New York, NY
What Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Users are Saying...
"It is really exciting to have a version of Kurzweil 3000 running on Mac OS X. Students will benefit greatly from its ease of use and the dictionary supports and study tools that are built into Kurzweil 3000. This is a wonderful product and one that the Macintosh educational community will embrace!"

"Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh has won me over. I really like the simplicity of the user interface especially the floating reader. My students are more motivated to read and learn. They are excited and feeling the power of being independent learners!"

"Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh is intuitive and natural to use. It offers an uncluttered, easy-to-use method for accessing printed text, performing note taking or studying, and writing with the assistance of auditory feedback. You’ve successfully taken advantage of what’s good about Mac OS X!"
Adam Krass
Assistive Technology Specialist, Bergen County Special Services
Paramus, NJ
"Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh is a great way to help struggling readers independently access challenging reading material. My favorite feature is the read-aloud. This opens up a whole new world for selected students.
Using the Kurzweil 3000 Text Note is a terrific way for students to respond to assignments. They simply pull down a note to jot down an idea or respond to a question. The teacher can then easily monitor their responses by extracting all of their text notes. Both students and teachers benefit from the independence and sense of accomplishment fostered by using Kurzweil 3000.”
Beth Pullman
Teacher, Fiske Elementary School
Wellesley, MA
"The absolute best feature is the ability to open up other documents and have them automatically become formatted in Kurzweil 3000. I cannot say enough about the positive implications this has for both teachers and students.
My students really took off with hearing their writing read back to them. It made the editing process so much easier and allowed them to complete assignments more quickly and easily."
