Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3.0
A new patch release for Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3.0 is now available - Version 3.0.4. This is a free update for registered Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3.0 customers.
We recommend that all Version 3.0 Standalone Edition customers upgrade to Version 3.0.4 as it contains the following:
Significant changes in Version 3.0.4
- Added support for reading new Kurzweil eContent files. Click here for further information on eContent
- Slightly larger scanner boundary area for Epson scanners
Significant changes in Version 3.0.3 (also included in Version 3.0.4)
- Improved performance with Spotlight Importer in OS X 10.4 Tiger.
- Improved compatibility with Mac OS X Server.
- Reduces occurrence of stitching errors.
- Compatible with the new Intel-based Macintoshes running OS X 10.4 Tiger via Apple's built-in Rosetta emulation software.
Note: There is no Version 3.0.2 for the Standalone Edition.
Significant changes in Version 3.0.1 (also included in Version 3.0.4)
- Support for OS X 10.4 Tiger; If planning to run Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh on OS X 10.4, you must run it on version 10.4.1 in order for the scanning functions in the Professional version to work correctly.
- Includes a Spotlight Importer for use with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger
- Support for high quality text-to-speech voices for OS X (Version 3.2.2 or later) from Cepstral. These voices are not included with Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Version 3.0.1 but may be purchased separately at www.cepstral.com.
- Fixed problem that occurred when saving an image file as a text-based file (text, RTF, Word, or other text format).
- Fixed problem that occurred when closing the last document window when the spelling window is open (Mac OS X only).
- Fixed problem that occurred when closing the window for a vocabulary word when the “Related Words” field is the current field.
- Fixed the Condor.kes sample document so that it reads correctly.
- Fixed problem that occurred when printing highlights in image files.
- Fixed problem that occurred if registration data for an existing account contained unusual characters.
- Fixed problem with scrollbars in the lookup window that would not appear correctly until you clicked in the text.
- Allows lending libraries to delete registrations.
- Speaks words chosen from the word prediction window when "speak whole words" is turned on.
- Allows you to put only graphic zones on a page to indicate that there are no text zones.
- Spell check now begins at the beginning of a new document, instead of remembering where it left off in the last document.
- Fixed problem that occurred when the Administrator was left running on the same machine as the Server for extended periods.
There are two versions of the patch release available for download, one for Standalone users and one for Network users.
NOTICE - You will not have to re-register the product after upgrading to Version 3.0.4.
If you are planning to run Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh on Mac OS X 10.4, you must run it on version 10.4.1 in order for the scanning functions in the Professional version to work correctly.
