System Requirements

Kurzweil 1000 and VoiceText software and hardware requirements

• 200 MHz or higher Pentium processor. If you are using VoiceText, you'll need 400 MHz Pentium II or faster.
• 64MB of RAM; 256MB if you're using VoiceText.
• At least 500MB of available hard disk space; and an additional 625MB for VoiceText.
• A CD-ROM drive.
• A TWAIN-compatible flatbed scanner (check here for a list of compatible scanners – AW, add this bit in the parenthesis if we do, in fact, have a list of compatible scanners somewhere. If you can’t find the list, remove the “check here” text pls).
• A Sound Blaster® -compatible sound card with speakers.
• A Full-size keyboard and/or a 17-button keypad.
• Windows® 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP operating systems.
• And the Kurzweil 1000 product CD-ROM.

Kurzweil 1000 does not currently support thin-client based environments as it was not designed for some of the special requirements of these systems.
